Thursday, 10 May 2012 (the brave day sunk in hideous night)
8:12am

At my request, my neighbor has moved their barbecue to in front of my bedroom window. (On the outside, obviously.) The idea is that it block's Janeway's access to said window, and thus she won't spend quite so much time slamming it with her front paws and barking. Here's to hoping.

This evening, Marta and I are going to the This American Life Live show simulcast at the Century San Francisco Centre 9. It's a thing.

10:13pm

Well, that was actually much more entertaining than I expected it to be.

8:51am

My recap of the first season finale of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is now up. I may take a break before I start on the next season, but then again, I probably won't.

9:42pm

The "change present tense to past tense" draft of a story is always the most tedious.

Tuesday, 8 May 2012 (unthrifty loveliness)
9:50am

Someday when I yell "No howling!" through the wall at Janeway, she'll actually stop howling. Thus far, today is not that day.

1:53pm

Went to what I thought was a new pilates class at the Y at half past eleven, but was in fact one that's normally at half past noon, just done an hour earlier. (Toward the end, many of regulars who didn't know about the time change were watching through the window in the door, terribly irritated.) I'd thought that I was easily the queerest person at the gym, but the pilates instructor was fuh-laming. I'm sure I'm still the most difficult to figure out, though.

Monday, 7 May 2012 (the mouth is indistinct)
10:35am

The article I wrote a few weeks ago about Slaughter in San Francisco for the weekly is finally up. It's even a "featured article," which is rare for the things that I write. (The Pony recaps never are, and most likely never will be.)

1:53pm

Did an hour of cardio (not the Monday class, but by myself on machines), and I also gave a group of teenage girls there something to point and laugh at by virtue of my basic appearance. Who says I never do anything for the kids?

3:15pm

Followed up on the "they didn't say no" book query. Now, more waiting.

Also, the Final Exam for Libr 202 has begun, which it's means it's Finals Week f'reals.

4:23pm

Got into the Mission just in time to take advantage of the brief window of post-Sunday Streets parking. Thank you, Sunday Streets!

10:42pm

We got a more energetic and responsive crowd at Bad Movie Night this evening for Village of the Damned, thank goodness.

Saturday, 5 May 2012 (calculating precision and recall)
2:15pm

Working from home today, as it should be. Applied for a writing job (I've applied for a few lately, have heard back from none, because that's how it works), and also submitted the Libr 202 project, so yay on that.

Friday, 4 May 2012 (metastatic response)
2:56pm

At Marta's. I've also sent off the paperwork to prove that I continue to require use of the EBT card. I suspect I probably should have been saving receipts, which is something that I should probably always have done, but it's just not a habit I ever got into.

This evening, Marta and I are going to the 4th Annual RADAR Spectacle. She's going to the organization's writing retreat in Mexico this July, and is volunteering at the event this evening. Hence.

7:12pm

We had dinner at I Luv Teriyaki & Sushi (first time I've been there since Bunny and I went to the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival in 2008, I think), and I'm now at Starbucks next to the Bay Area Video Coalition, trying to get some writing done while Marta helps with setup at the event. It's reminding me of why I don't like working at cafes anymore—specifically, the stinky Jesus-looking hippie who just sat down across from me. Ugh.

sometime after midnight

Marta and I spent the majority of the event in the lobby, guarding the soon-to-be-auctioned artwork. It was just right, actually.

Thursday, 3 May 2012 (of some persuasion)
12:32pm

The parking is treacherous, but I've been learning to love the Sunset Supermarket on Vicente, since they're the only store (Asian or otherwise) in my semi-immediate vicinity that both carries healthy food and takes EBT cards. And that's important.

9:32pm

The group presentaton went well, and the professor seemed to like it a lot, which is important. For how touch-and-go this class has felt at times this semester, I do believe I'm going to pass.

Wednesday, 2 May 2012 (pawns in a fairy tale)
7:31am

Marta just got us plane tickets to Chicago for the first week of June. So, I guess I'm finally going to see Chicago.

8:39am

My recap of episodes 24 and 25 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is now up. Almost done with the season, yay.

7:12pm

Went to the Wednesday afternoon class at the Y. As always, I need to remind myself that even if I'm not getting the moves exactly right, and I almost never do, the important thing is that I'm moving.

9:41pm

Another online meeting with the Libr 204 group, this time to go over the presentation tomorrow night, one which I will not be directly involved in because I've been doing the lion's share of work on the concurrent paper that's due on Saturday. The final exam is next week, and quite frankly, it feels like it'll be a comparative breeze. (It'll no doubt feel more like a monsoon when I'm actually doing it.)

Tuesday, 1 May 2012 (bless us all)
7:17am

There was rioting in Marta's old neighborhood last night, much of it on the corner where she used to live. It's just one of many reasons that I'm glad she doesn't live there anymore.

12:36pm

Just got a passport picture taken. It's horrible, because of course it is.

9:41pm

Marta and I had dinner with Ilene tonight. It was good to see her, and she's doing as well as can be expected, all things considered.
